Leah’s Orion Health journey began in 2006 as a graduate when she worked as a Proposal Coordinator. She started in Auckland and had several managers as she progressed from pre-sales to documentation and then to a more technical position. Leah then moved to London where she worked as an implementation consultant for about seven years. She now works as a Senior Implementation Consultant for the HCS team in Christchurch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Which project(s) that you have worked on have you enjoyed the most?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Unfortunately, my memory is not great for these sorts of things, so my favourite project is one that I’m currently working on which is an ED Dashboard using the new Dashboards functionality in Portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What has been your biggest achievement during your time at Orion Health?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Two years ago I worked on four forms with lots of population between them for the Ophthalmology department at CDHB. It replaced their existing paper forms and was (and still is) a complex project. It felt like a big achievement when that first phase was done!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Has there been a challenge you have faced that you have worked past?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n A big challenge for me was being elected President of our Toastmasters club just as Orion Health went through a restructure which meant many of our members left the club. However together with the other committee members, we kept going and are continuing to build our membership back up, although it’s still a work in progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What do you enjoy the most about your role?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I enjoy the variety of the work that’s involved, there’s always a different issue to investigate or problem to solve. If I can’t figure something out I have a great team that I can ask for help! It’s also nice to know that the work we do directly helps the clinicians who are looking after my family and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What would you do (for a career) if you weren\u2019t doing this?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I really don’t know, there are so many interesting alternatives! Architect, chocolatier, carpenter, pilot – I’m not sure what I would do if I started over again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What do you like to do outside of work?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I enjoy baking and reading. I have two young children so there’s not a lot of time for reading what I like, but I do read a lot of children’s books! <\/p>\n\n\n\n Interested in learning more about what we do? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
