Sunnybrook Health Sciences to promote Clinical Documentation record solution at HIMSS
SHSC will conduct poster session featuring Orion Health's Clinical Documentation solution
Las Vegas/NV, Toronto, ON – March 5, 2018 - Orion Health, a leader in population health management and healthcare integration solutions, today announced that its Clinical Documentation solution (ClinDoc) will be featured as part of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre’s (SHSC) poster presentation at HIMSS18, the health information technology industry’s leading annual conference. Sunnybrook will promote its progress bringing to life the vision of a “One Patient, One Story” record solution.
Sunnybrook, a client since 2013 using Orion Health’s Rhapsody Integration Engine, procured for a electronic Clinical Documentation Solution that would be comprehensive, scalable and meet the needs of a multi-disciplinary clinical team. Sunnybrook ultimately wanted to evolve from a paper-based reporting structure to a more fully integrated inter-professional Electronic Health Record (EHR). As Sunnybrook is a multi-site organization over different campuses, with multi-professional teams, they required a solution suiting the needs of the end-user, enhancing the hospital’s clinical workflow with overall continuity of care for patients.
The clinical documentation solution seamlessly integrates with SunnyCare, the hospital’s existing electronic clinical care system. This allows it to be used across sites by thousands of inter-professional clinical end-users, thus enhancing patient care while avoiding a costly rip-and-replace process for Sunnybrook’s IT department.
“Working in partnership with Sunnybrook Health Sciences over the years, has established a platform upon which Orion Health can understand their needs when it comes to implementing to an electronic clinical documentation solution, “ said Tracey Sharma, Director of Sales, Orion Health.
“ClinDoc is an evolution, not a revolution. It’s developed by clinicians for clinicians, which is a very important distinction,” said Margaret McCormack, Director of Clinical Documentation, Sunnybrook.
Sunnybrook and Orion Health are leveraging existing assets to save money while achieving equivalent results.”
Sunnybrook’s overall solution will allow 7,000 clinicians to document the entire patient visit, provide an intuitive and easy-to-use interface, support interdisciplinary documentation, and seamlessly integrate with Sunnybrook’s existing information systems. This includes streamlining communication processes with automated messaging based on clinical documentation selections, order entry and team list actions, enabling enhanced inter-professional collaboration resulting in accessible shared information, enhanced discharge planning and a potential reduction in length of stay, but most importantly alleviating the patients’ concerns.
