Bumrungrad International Hospital, in Bangkok, Thailand, is an international medical facility, receiving more than 1,200,000 visits per year with 400,000 foreign patients.
The hospital operates 554 beds and 19 operating theatres. Patient volumes are significant, with 2500 – 4000 outpatients seen a day, throughout the year. Bumrungrad was the first hospital in Asia to receive the US-based Joint Commission on International Accreditation.
In 1999, Bumrungrad realised that without appropriate information tools, their organisation could not be able to scale to meet the demand for their services. They partnered with Global Care Solutions to develop a Total Hospital Information System called Hospital 2000. This system was acquired in 2012 by Orion Health to become Orion Health Enterprise.
