Judges comments: “David demonstrates a breadth of understanding of the heath sector and has dedicated his entire career to bridging the role of clinician (he is a GP by training) with technology, with stunning results.”

Orion Health New Zealand General Manager Kate Reid says: “We are very pleased for David, and congratulate him on his Award. We are passionate about creating a Charter of Interoperability in New Zealand, and standards are key to this. We are fortunate to have him as part of our team.”

Dr Hay is the author of a widely read blog on FHIR fhirblog.com and has developed a range of open source tools used to educate and assist the developers of FHIR clinfhir.com. His ongoing commitment to FHIR is helping to provide the momentum it needs for international adoption.
