It’s arguable that Alan Turing won the war for the Allies with his code-cracking work deciphering the German’s Enigma machine.

The decoding of tens of thousands of Nazi messages every month enabled the Allies to plan effective counterattacks and help ensure their troops were no longer taken unawares. Winning the war was just the beginning for Turing’s career. The brilliant mathematician went on to write the first ever programming manual and he is considered the founding father of artificial intelligence and modern cognitive science.

Turing is credited with many insightful statements, but my favourite is: “Those who can imagine anything, can create the impossible.”

At Orion Health, we’re big on hiring people with a passion for exploring new ideas that will have a global impact. That’s because we are on a mission to change the world ourselves.

Our software is enabling the new revolution in healthcare known as Precision Medicine. We are building a platform that will capture, store and analyse terabytes of information about people’s health. This is more than just information about their medical record, it’s data about their genome, their microbiome, their exposome and much more

We’re looking for software engineers and data analysts who can help us build that platform. Who want to create innovative apps that enable the delivery of comprehensive healthcare information to physicians in real time. In short, we want people who believe it is possible to transform global healthcare so that every individual receives the perfect care for them.

To do that requires not only talent, but the desire to make positive change and the ability to think in new ways. Or, as one of my other favourite scientists Albert Einstein put it: “The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.”
