New\nZealand will be the first country, globally, to deploy a national algorithm\nmanagement solution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Join presenters Genevieve Dawick and Pieta Brown on Thursday 18th June, at an upcoming eHealthNews Live webinar &#8220;AI driving clinical decision making&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Genevieve Dawick, Product Director for the New Zealand Algorithm Hub, will present on the solution and its relevant technology and Pieta Brown, Senior Data Science Consultant for Orion Health Intelligence Services, will discuss how this solution is being used to support the National Crisis Management Centre. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hinz.org.nz\/page\/Webinar-18June2020\">Register for the webinar<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Orion&nbsp;Health has been awarded\nfunding&nbsp;via&nbsp;the Ministry of Business, Innovation and\nEmployment&nbsp;COVID-19 Acceleration Fund&nbsp;to deliver a&nbsp;New Zealand\nAlgorithm Hub, which will provide the infrastructure, tooling and resources\nnecessary to support operational modelling and timely information dissemination\nto the government, healthcare organisations and professionals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Orion Health\u2019s goal is to:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Rapidly deliver a series of COVID-19\nrelated&nbsp;models&nbsp;that provide immediate value in support of New\nZealand\u2019s COVID-19 pandemic response.<\/li><li>Achieve broad engagement and use\nacross District Health Boards, government organisations, data scientists and\nresearchers.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Lay the foundation&nbsp;for a\nnational algorithm management solution that&nbsp;will provide value\nto&nbsp;our&nbsp;customers&nbsp;beyond the current pandemic response<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Free access for the duration of the pandemic response<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Orion Health will provide free access to models, algorithms or risk calculators developed or deployed by Orion Health as a part of this initiative, for the duration of the pandemic response. This access is offered to any New Zealand health, government or academic organisation supporting or involved in the pandemic response. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As new algorithms and models are developed in New Zealand\nand internationally, this solution will enable appropriate governance and fast\ndeployment of the latest findings from research and practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Supporting the National Crisis Management Centre<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Orion Health is already supporting the National Crisis Management Centre\n(NCMC) by running the daily disease spread models and reporting on scenario\nresults. However, currently, these models are only available to be run by the\nimmediate modelling team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The New Zealand Algorithm Hub will open up this modelling capability to a wider New Zealand audience, including the Ministry of Health, District Health Boards and other healthcare professionals.
