Hear from Cath Hart on how access to CHIE at Woodley Grange Care Home improves care for her mother, Margaret.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transcript<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How has the Shared Care Record &#8211; CHIE impacted your care? <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>CHIE system is a computer system that enables the staff at the care home to see Mum&#8217;s medical records without having to ring the surgery. When Mum moved here eight months ago, obviously, there&#8217;s a lot to do with moving home, so I actually assumed that the care home staff would automatically have access to Mum&#8217;s records. But then you had a letter that invited you along to a diabetic blood screening appointment, and at that point, the home realized she was diabetic, and I didn&#8217;t hadn&#8217;t realized they didn&#8217;t know.
