NDHIN\u2019s extensive exchange capabilities encompass ADT messages, medical documentation, lab results, immunizations and much more. It currently maintains 1.2 million patient IDs. In a typical month, over 1,700 users access 11,000 records. Among the wide spectrum of participating organizations are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Nearly all of the state\u2019s hospitals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specialty clinics and practices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pharmacies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dialysis centers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rehabilitation facilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Strategic Objectives and Directions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Following a strategic review several years ago, NDHIN has embraced advanced, interoperable technology to exchange information in service of care coordination, analytics, and population health management. \u201cHarnessing technology to serve citizens throughout North Dakota\u2019s rural and urban communities is a major priority,\u201d said Shila Thorson, Director of North Dakota Health Information Technology. \u201cWe are enhancing statewide data connectivity to more thoroughly understand patients\u2019 conditions, allowing for up-to-the-minute decisions and faster diagnoses.\u201d Like most HIEs, NDHIN is also pursuing sustainable growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/orionhealth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Orion-Health-Case-study_NDHIN.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read the Case Study<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>North Dakota Health Information Network Background North Dakota Health Information Network (NDHIN) has created a secure statewide medical record sharing network for providers and consumers.
