CHIE system is a computer system that enables the staff at the care home to see Mum’s medical records without having to ring the surgery. When Mum moved here eight months ago, obviously, there’s a lot to do with moving home, so I actually assumed that the care home staff would automatically have access to Mum’s records. But then you had a letter that invited you along to a diabetic blood screening appointment, and at that point, the home realized she was diabetic, and I didn’t hadn’t realized they didn’t know. So, I think that it’s a huge benefit to have immediate access to things to provide appropriate care.Â
