Election results to be announced at Annual General Meeting in May

Orion Health announces today that Digital Health Canada has approved the nomination of Dr. Chris Hobson, Chief Medical Officer, for consideration to its Board of Directors.

Dr. Hobson is an industry veteran with over three decades experience in all areas of healthcare IT. He is committed to giving a voice to clinicians and patients as they adjust to the brave new world of ubiquitous healthcare technology.

Dr. Hobson has a track record of highly successful HIT projects across healthcare landscapes in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, UK, USA, Spain and the Middle East. He served as a hospital-based physician and community based primary care physician for over 15 years. Globally, Dr. Hobson has participated in and advised more than 25 Health Information Exchanges along with a significant number of chronic disease management, population health and care coordination projects.

Dr. Hobson is a trusted advisor, presenter and thought leader in healthcare IT. He is an active public speaker at conferences such as eHealth Canada, HIMSS, and eHealth Initiative. He is a mentor for new start-up ventures, and the Digital Health Canada lead on the Community of Action on e-Safety.

Orion Health also congratulates fellow nominees to Digital Health Canada’s Board of Directors, representing three of our clients: Karla Avery and Jonathan Choy from Alberta Health Services, Blair White from Newfoundland & Labrador Centre for Health Information, and Davin Church from eHealth Saskatchewan.

Digital Health Canada’s Board election will run from April 8th to April 18th. An email will be sent to all current Digital Health Canada members on the April 8th. Results will be announced at the Annual General Meeting on May 28th
