Care homes across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight are accessing the Care and Health Information Exchange shared care record to support resident care. Hear from Joshua Horder on how CHIE is helping to deliver more time to care.

In the Digital Social Care Programme, our new ethos is more time to care, and the delivery of CHIE to our Care Homes absolutely underpins that ethos. So, the time spent looking for information is then directly transferred to the resident, giving them the care that they need. And it means the residents themselves when they interact with care providers, they don’t have to keep telling their story, they tell the story once and it’s a completely available through CHIE. Not only is it in the social care sector, but CHIE is also available in primary care, secondary care, and ambulatory services, so we’re joining up the whole pathway of patient care. Which obviously has a really, really profound positive impact on you as you traverse the different care settings as a patient. Â
