What benefits have you seen of the Shared Care Record, CHIE?
My staff used to spend a lot of time on the phone to hospitals, GP surgeries and all the other professionals. Since we started using CHIE, we have been able to look up all the clinical information of our residents in a fairly quick manner. So much so that when people have appointments, we don’t have to wait for the GP to send a letter resuming what the appointment was about we can just look it up. The same goes for blood tests and any X-rays. So last week, for example, we had a resident who went into the hospital. She was admitted, and she came back the day after. Unfortunately, she came back without a discharge letter. We were able to access that information very quickly and print it out on the spot.
