A report by The King’s Fund, Developing accountable care systems: lessons from Canterbury, New Zealand, found that there’s a lot that the NHS can learn from the Canterbury region on how accountable care should work – and how it should not.
In this live online event we hear directly from the people leading Canterbury’s health system on the key interventions that have contributed to their success so far, including:
- The development of a shared electronic care record
- The HealthPathways programme: a model that brings together GPs and hospital specialists to agree management and referral pathways for particular conditions
- Using technology to improve hospital capacity planning
- How they engaged with all stakeholders: patients, the community, clinicians and wider partners to design and deliver the right system transformation.
